MSCI is working with 11 of our local chapters to produce manufacturing summits across the country in this critical election year. The summits will last approximately 90 minutes with a 45 to 60 minute panel discussion followed by Q&A and an opportunity for comments from politicians.

During the summit we intend to cover “game changing” issues that affect our economy broadly and the metal service center and manufacturing industry in particular. Topics include: tax policies and reforms that would lower the cost of doing business; regulatory policy, including implementation of the 2010 health care law and proposed OSHA Injury and Illness Prevention Program regulations; energy policies that support reliable, domestic energy supplies; tax and trade issues, including currency manipulation, trade law enforcement and corporate taxation; and workforce development, including card check and reforming retraining programs.

MSCI will also present the findings of a new study that takes a detailed, state-by-state look at the impact the metals service center industry has on the U.S. economy and national employment.
