Local events and networking opportunities are provided to Metals Service Center Institute members through 30 local chapters, each with its own volunteer officers and board members.

Although each chapter establishes its own events calendar and sets local dues, all chapters are required to observe nationwide MSCI antitrust guidelines. Typical programs include:

  • Inside/Outside Sales dinners, often held on days when special local training may be offered; the programs recognizes the importance of the sales force
  • Golf Outings, where members enjoy a day away from work in a tournament golf setting
  • Political Night, where prominent politicians are invited to speak and important issues can be debated
  • Town Hall Meetings, large gatherings to focus on a single significant subject, with a panel of speakers who address an industry-wide issue, such as the crisis in durable goods manufacturing
  • Chapter Annual Meetings, where chapter business may be conducted and members and their spouses may meet in a dinner or dinner/dance environment
  • Economic Outlook meetings, with local market experts invited to present the economic and market outlook
  • Mill Night, with presentations by producers and, often, a related tour

Each chapter is provided with a member of the MSCI national staff who serves as its liaison to assist with programming, recruiting, finances, and other aspects of chapter operations.
