Hotel Reservations
Contact Hyatt Toll-free Reservations at (800) 233-1234 or the Hyatt Grand Cypress direct at (407) 239-1234. Mention that you are attending the MSCI Carbon Conference to receive the negotiated rate. These rates are available three days prior and three days after the conference, based upon availability. The rate expires after January 25, 2010 or when the MSCI block is filled; whichever occurs first. Hotel room deposits will be refunded if cancellations are made at least 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival date.
We strongly recommend that you make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. MSCI cannot guarantee the negotiated rate or room availability after the cut-off date of Monday, January 25, 2010 when the room block is filled – whichever occurs first.
Hotel Description
The award-winning Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is situated on 1,500 acres in Lake Buena Vista area, close to Orlando's many famous theme parks. In October 2008, the legendary hotel began its $65 million renovation with modern restyling of all guestrooms and suites. Each guestroom is smartly-designed with emphasis on conservation, guest comfort and convenience. Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress offers a variety of recreational activities, including 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf, racquet club, a 21-acre lake with water sports, a 1/2-acre lagoon swimming pool with waterfalls and waterslides and Camp Hyatt children's programs.
Transportation
The Hyatt Grand Cypress is less than 20 miles and approximately 30 minutes from the Orlando Airport. Several options for ground transportation are available:
Avis Rent A Car has provided discounted pricing for MSCI Carbon Conference attendees. Please make advanced reservations by call Avis directly at 1-800-331-1600 and refer to AWD#B766631. You may also make reservations online by clicking here.
Mears Transportation Shuttle – provides transportation to and from Hyatt Grand Cypress at approximately $31.00 one way. Upon arrival, please proceed to Ground Transportation, located one level below baggage claim and look for the Mears Transportation desk. Inform the representative that you need the shuttle to the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. After hours, you may reach a Mears Representative for assistance via the phone located at the desk. Advance reservations are required for return to the airport, and can be arranged through the Mears desk each day from 7:30 am and 8:30 pm or via phone 407-239-1234 ext. 4149. After hours, please call 407-423-5566.
Taxis Are available on the Ground Transportation Level on both the A and B sides of the Main Terminal. Approximately $55 one way.
Mears Meet & Greet: Arrangements for pick-up can be arranged in advance through the hotel concierge by calling 407-239-1234. Cost is approximately $65.00 plus gratuity for a town car from the airport to the hotel.
Cancellation Policy
A full refund will be issued for cancellations received in writing by MSCI by 5:00 pm, Monday, January 18. Cancellations received in writing after this date and before 5:00 pm, Monday, February 1 will receive a refund of 50% of all conference fees paid. No shows and cancellations received after that date will not be eligible for refunds. Substitutions may be made at any time. Written cancellations or substitutions will be accepted by the MSCI Member Services Department by fax or email to kjohnson@msci.org.
Activity registration deadline is Monday, February 1. No refunds on cancelled activities or golf will be issued after this date as we are obligated to provide guarantees to our vendors on this date.
Meeting Notes
MSCI Product Division Conferences are high-level business networking events. The executives in attendance do not expect direct selling of products and services. Please keep this in mind as you plan your attendance.
Spouse/Guest Participation
Spouse and guests are not usually included in any group activities; and there will be no entertainment by associate members. However, you may purchase a dinner ticket for your spouse/guest for the Friday reception and dinner. Tickets are $150. No children please. Your spouse or guest may also pay to participate in the bass fishing or tennis tournament tours. The scholarship golf tournament is for delegate members only. To purchase a dinner or an activity ticket for your spouse/guest, please call Kate Johnson at 847/485-3006.
What to Wear
Conference attire is business casual. This includes khaki slacks and polo type shirts for the men; slacks, skirts, polo-type shirts or blouses and sweaters for the women. Both Thursday and Friday’s receptions and dinners will be held outdoors weather permitting and casual attire is appropriate.
Final Program
Paid registrations must be received no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, February 1 to be included in the final program.
Press Policy
No MSCI policy is intended to prevent accredited members of the press from attending MSCI events. Each press outlet will receive one complimentary ‘press’ registration to MSCI meetings or conferences. Any attribution from a formal presentation or informal conversation outside of a formal conference session requires the permission of any speaker and MSCI before their comments or information from their presentation may be printed or distributed or published Please note that recording of programs, materials and/or presentations (e.g audiotaping and/or videotaping) is prohibited. MSCI has the right to deny attendance to individuals or publications not abiding by this policy.
Only event sponsors may distribute products or promotional materials at MSCI venues. Please contact Kate Johnson at 847/485-3006 if you are interested in becoming a sponsor.
Entertainment Policy
Entertainment and/or company meetings should never be scheduled at the same time as official MSCI business or a social event. This includes breakfast sessions, business sessions, and evening group function. MSCI recommends that company entertainment be planned prior to the opening or following the conclusions of the conference. Those companies wishing to plan any entertainment are asked to advise MSCI.
