Come See Nationally Recognized Workplace Safety Expert Fred Rine At MSCI’s Safety Conference

As Connecting the Dots readers know, registration for the Metals Service Center Institute’s (MSCI) 2017 Safety Conference is underway.

This conference brings people together to tackle the most urgent safety issues facing the industrial metal industry today. MSCI gathers members of the metals industry and metals safety experts to help its members discover and design the answers to their toughest safety problems.

This year’s conference will feature Fred Rine, a nationally recognized leader in workplace safety, who will give a keynote address at this year’s conference. Rine insists that industry has to be a lot more interested in why workers make bad choices, why they endanger themselves and their colleagues, and what motivates them to take the risks that can be fatal. “We want them to be safe at work, not because they have to, but because they want to, because they want to go home to their families each and every night,” Rine says. Rine says he is not going to tell participants “how” to be safe at work. In fact, he states, “Workplaces are in better physical shape than they’ve ever been. Workers are better trained, but unfortunately they are still getting hurt on the job.” Instead, he'll explain how to shift attitudes and improve safety at MSCI's Safety Conference.

As a reminder: the week of September 23-29 will be a busy week in Indianapolis since more than 8,000 people are expected at the National Safety Council's Annual Congress & Expo. Finding a hotel room for MSCI’s two-day Safety Conference co-located with the NSC event will be tricky. MSCI has discounted hotel rooms for its Safety Conference attendees at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, but they're going quickly. If you’ve decided to join MSCI in Indianapolis, let MSCI help you and reserve your room here. Choose MSCI from the dropdown and the password is MSCI2017NSC.
