What to Wear

During the day, business/resort casual sportswear is appropriate attire for our business sessions. This includes khaki slacks, polo-style shirts, or sweaters for the gentlemen; slacks, skirts, polo-style shirts, blouses, or sweaters for the ladies. Remember meeting room temperatures and personal comfort zones vary widely. It is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions. The Tuesday and Wednesday evening receptions and dinner will be held outdoors; weather permitting. It calls for casual and comfortable clothing; jackets are recommended. While planning your wardrobe, please remember that Scottsdale's average high and low temperatures in mid-January are 66° high and 43° low.

Important Hotel Deadlines and Policies
Please note: It is recommended that you make your hotel accommodations early to ascertain availability. MSCI cannot guarantee availability or the room rate after Monday, December 4, or when the MSCI room block is filled— whichever occurs first.

All reservation requests must be accompanied by a first night room deposit, or guaranteed with a major credit card. Deposits will be refundable only if the reservation is cancelled at least 48 hours prior to arrival time.

Hotel check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is noon.  While the hotel will attempt to accommodate early check-in and late departures, it cannot be guaranteed depending upon hotel occupancy.

MSCI Golf Tournament at McCormick Ranch Golf Club

An oasis in the desert, the Palm Course offers panoramic mountain vistas beyond vast, sparkling lakes. Course Designer Desmond Muirhead created a classic in 1972. Water comes into play on 10 holes, and signature hole number 9 has been featured in Golf Illustrated’s Top 18 Water Holes of America. The Palm Course has been a destination on the Canadian Tour, previously hosting the Scottsdale Swing.

Fee: $160.00 per person, inclusive of tournament golf professional and greens fees, golf cart and lunch buffet.

TaylorMade clubs are available to rent for $50.00 and will be charged to your room portfolio.

Golf pairings will be created by selected members of the Tubular Council.

Important Deadlines and Policies

A full refund will be issued for cancellations received in writing by MSCI by 5:00 pm Monday, December 4, 2017; cancellations received in writing by MSCI by 5:00 pm before Friday, December 22, will receive a refund of 50% of registration fees paid. No-shows and cancellations received after that time will not be eligible for refunds. Substitutions may be made at any time. Written cancellations or substitutions will be accepted by the MSCI Member Services Department.

Dr. Alan Beaulieu
One of the country’s most informed economists, Dr. Alan Beaulieu is a principal of the ITR Economics where he serves as president. Since 1990, he has been consulting with companies throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia on how to forecast, plan, and increase their profits based on business cycle trend analysis. Alan is also the senior economic advisor to NAW, contributing editor for Industry Week, and the chief economist for HARDI.

Alan is co-author, along with Brian Beaulieu, of Make Your Move, Prosperity in the Age of Decline, and But I Want It.

He has also penned numerous articles on economic analysis. Through his keynotes and seminars Alan has helped thousands of business owners and executives capitalize on emerging trends.

Alan has a doctorate from Louisiana Baptist University.

Dr. David DeLong
As president of Smart Workforce Strategies, Dr. David DeLong helps leaders implement practical solutions to address critical skill shortages created by major changes in workforce demographics, shifts in generational values and new technologies.

David is also a research fellow at the MIT AgeLab and has been an adjunct professor at Babson College where he teaches “Leading & Managing Organizational Change.”

He is co-author of The Executive Guide to High-Impact Talent Management (McGraw-Hill), and author of the widely-praised book Lost Knowledge: Confronting the Threat of an Aging Workforce (Oxford University Press). His most recent book is Graduate to a Great Job: Make Your College Degree Pay Off in Today’s Market.

David has spoken for and consulted with organizations such as MetLife, American Council of Life Insurers, the Federal Reserve Bank, Farm Credit System, Microsoft, MasterCard, Lockheed Martin, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Ernst & Young and Accenture.

Lee Fahrenz
Lee Fahrenz is sales vice president at Euler Hermes North America. Lee has over 30 years of sales and management experience in insurance, banking and finance, his last 12 years at Euler Hermes, North America's largest and oldest provider of trade credit solutions.

Lee earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Gustavus Adolphus College.

Joseph Oleksak
Joe Oleksak is a partner and leader of the information technology consulting team at Plante Moran. Joe has more than 17 years of information systems security and information technology audit experience in financial institutions including banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, and insurance companies. Joe’s experience includes: IT strategic planning, IT risk assessments, IT audit, global/local network security projects, web application security, PCI compliance, SSAE16 & SOC reviews, incident response and business continuity and disaster recovery management. Joe is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)². He is a member of both the Indiana Bankers Association Information Technology Committee and the Illinois Bankers Association Technology Committee.

Joe is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified in Risk and Information System Controls (CRISC). He earned a bachelor of science in business administration and finance from Marian University Indianapolis.

Edward Vore
Edward Vore serves as chief executive officer of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products NAFTA.  

Edward joined Copperweld Corporation in 1983 which was a legacy company acquired by Dofasco in 2005. He held a number of commercial roles of increasing responsibility prior to an assignment in the metallurgical department at the Shelby, Ohio, tubing plant. After his technical development, Edward held commercial management roles in sales and marketing of increasing responsibility until assuming his current position in July 2013.

Edward is a member of the executive boards of the MSCI Tubular Products Council, Committee on Pipe and Tube Imports (CPTI), and the Steel Tube Institute of North America (past president).

Edward holds a bachelor of science degree in metallurgical engineering from Lafayette College and an MBA in executive management from Ashland University.

William Zielinski

William Zielinski is responsible for the sales, marketing, procurement, administration and operations of Chicago Tube & Iron’s Distribution and Engineered Products Groups. 

Prior to joining Chicago Tube, Bill worked for Bliss & Laughlin Steel.  He held various positions including Midwest Division Sales Manager, Product Manager, Territory Sales Manager, and Inside Sales.  He began his career at CTI in 1992 in the Chicago Division, first as Product Manager-Pipe & Cold Finished Bar, then as Inside Sales Manager, and finally as General Manager.  In 2004 he was promoted to VP-Eastern Region and to VP of Marketing in 2009.  He was promoted to his current position in 2016.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University, and an MBA with a major in Marketing from Loyola University.  He is a graduate of MSCI’s management program at Ohio State University and subsequently the executive program at Texas A&M University.
