Data Spotlight: Energy Supply Chain Responsible for 250,000 New Jobs Over Next Decade

The Energy Equipment and Infrastructure Alliance, of which MSCI is a member, last week issued a new report called “Supplying the Unconventional Revolution: Sizing the Unconventional Oil and Gas Supply Chain,” which looks at the number of jobs and output generated by companies that directly supply companies involved in oil- and gas-related operations. According to the study, which was carried out by IHS Global, these companies will be responsible for the creation of more than 250,000 jobs between 2012 and 2025 and $61 billion in additional output. EEIA believes the study will be invaluable as the coalition works at the federal and state levels to advance a comprehensive energy policy.
