Unconscious Bias in the Workplace

Unconscious bias is prevalent in us all. It influences the way we react to challenges and the way we interact with others. How can we tune into our thoughts, to improve our personal wellbeing and develop a better workplace environment? COL (Ret) Donna Brazil Ph.D., and former director of Leadership and Psychology Programs at the United States Military Academy (USMA), will help us explore ways to recognize these mental shortcuts and take action to respond in a more effective way.

 

COL (Ret.) Donna Brazil, Ph.D.

  • COL (Ret.) Donna Brazil retired from the United States Army after a 31-year career as a logistics officer. She also holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill.
  • Donna directed both the Leadership Course taught to all juniors at West Point, as well as the Psychology Program.
  • Donna served with the Office of Military Cooperation – Afghanistan assisting the Afghan Ministry of Defense in establishing the Afghan Military Academy.
