German Economy Strong Despite Trade Pressures
- Despite escalating trade penalties, the German economy expanded 0.5 percent from the first quarter of 2018 to the second quarter. The reading was better than analysts had predicted and also topped the first quarter’s 0.4 percent growth rate. The German economy expanded 2.3 percent between the second quarter of 2017 and the second quarter of 2018.
