  • According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, sales of sedans, SUVs and minivans in China were down 3.4 percent from August 2014 to August 2015. Total vehicle sales were down three percent year-over-year. According to The Associated Press, Xu Qian of AlixPartners said Chinese automakers “will be lucky if the market achieves single-digit growth this year.” The Associated Press noted analysts had originally expected seven to eight percent growth in auto sales in China this year.
  • Due to declining demand outside the Eurozone, factory orders in Germany fell 1.4 percent between June and July. Analysts had predicted a 0.6 percent drop. Export orders were off 5.2 percent while orders from within Germany increased 4.1 percent.
