Have You Told EPA To Get Rid Of Its Costly WOTUS Rule? Act Now If You Haven’t

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is currently accepting comments from the public and stakeholders on its proposal to withdraw the controversial 2015 Water of the United States (WOTUS) rule and replace it with protections that will act as a critical step toward fixing our nation’s water policy.

The Metals Service Center Institute urges its members to register their opinions on this matter by using the National Association Manufacturers’ website to either submit individualized comments or to submit pre-drafted comments in support of a clear rule that empowers everyone to join in protecting U.S. waters. The metals industry needs to let the EPA know that it supports clean water and deserves a clear rule protecting it. Although the 2015 WOTUS rule was expected to clarify what waters are controlled by federal regulations, it failed to do so. The 2015 rule is unnecessarily complex and vague and the only remedy is to withdraw the 2015 rule and replace it with a rule that is clearly defined.

Click here to act now to send comments to the EPA urging them to withdraw the confusing 2015 WOTUS rule and replace it with a clear rule that protects our critical water resources. The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments challenging the WOTUS rule on October 11.
