In Case You Missed It: MSCI’s Bob Weidner Interviewed By American Metal Market
American Metal Market recently interviewed Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) President and CEO M. Robert Weidner about U.S. trade policy and enforcement. Weidner argued, “Our members are expecting us in both Washington and Ottawa to do more on their behalf in terms of advocacy, and they are also looking for us to do much more in data analytics and end-use market forecasting. If we could advocate as a supply chain coalition, as opposed to a standalone trade association, our voice is that much louder and our economic impact on GDP (gross domestic product) is that much greater.”
Weidner also announced that about a “dozen trade associations are in the early stages of forming a coalition that will advocate for the entire industrial metals supply chain’s shared needs and challenges in order to present a united front on critical issues.”
