Make Your Voice Heard: Support The Atlantic Coast Pipeline
MSCI’s partners at the Energy and Equipment Infrastructure Alliance (EEIA) are calling for business people, workers, and community members who support construction of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) to send letters to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VADEQ) recommending approval of water-related permits that are necessary to build the pipeline.
The project's approval and subsequent construction depends on a strong showing by supporters.
The ACP will be a $5 billion, 600-mile natural gas pipeline originating in northern West Virginia and travelling through Virginia and North Carolina. Its construction, which will take from 2017 to 2019, will create thousands of jobs and require massive amounts of construction, equipment, materials, and services from contractors and suppliers throughout the region and beyond. The natural gas takeaway capacity it will add will also enable increased drilling and production of natural gas in the Marcellus and Utica formations of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
The VADEQ will hold public hearings in early August and accept written comments through August 22. Click here to send a letter to the VADEQ. Please note if you are a resident of Virginia. After completing the form, please forward the link above to co-workers and colleagues urging them to sign the letter too.
