MSCI Carbon Conference Is In Just Two Weeks—Are You Registered?

Registration for the Metals Service Center Institute’s (MSCI) Carbon Conference is still open, but time is running out to secure your spot.

Delegates to the conference, set for February 20-21 in Chandler, Ariz., now can register emerging professionals at the low rate of $795. Emerging professionals are those with seven years or fewer in the metals industry. Don’t miss this opportunity to efficiently expose your newer team members to business connections across the steel industry.

This conference will feature Dr. Barry Lawrence, a faculty member of the Industrial Distribution Program at Texas A&M University, which is the largest industrial distribution educational program of its kind. Dr. Lawrence will present a session on price optimization. According to Lawrence, ERP systems are the new table-stakes. If companies can’t run a decent ERP system, they’ll be taken out because an ERP system is the foundation for e-commerce and customer relationship management (CRM) systems—two trends that are barreling in the direction of industrial distributors everywhere.

In addition to Lawrence’s presentation, the Carbon Conference also will include:

  • Top steel industry speakers. MSCI’s TOM (Theories on Metals) Talks industry speakers will discuss practical ways to build an innovative metals company through corporate culture and operations. MSCI also is building a panel of respected metals industry leaders to get answers to the tough questions on the uncertainties the industry is facing.
  • In-depth end market forecasts. Alan Beaulieu from ITR Economics will be back to provide MSCI members with a forecast for important end markets and to explain what that prediction means for hiring, capital investment, and more. Beaulieu also will touch on public policy issues facing the country and the industry.
