MSCI Coalition Sends Letter in Support of Comprehensive Tax Reform
Last week, the Coalition for Fair and Effective Tax Rates, which MSCI is a member of, sent a letter to members of the House Ways and Means Tax Policy Subcommittee in advance of a hearing they held last week on the need for tax reform. The letter argued that the tax code “needs to be simplified and the tax base should be broadened,” but warned only a “comprehensive approach” would fix the code.
Specifically, the letter asked members to make sure tax reform lowers tax rates for both “corporations and for the vast majority of businesses that pay taxes through the individual rate system.” The full letter supported by MSCI and its coalition partners is available on the coalition’s website.
As a reminder, MSCI members can also learn more about MSCI’s position on federal tax reform by checking out the organization’s new advocacy website.
