MSCI President And CEO Bob Weidner Receives Council Of Manufacturing Associations’ 2014 Leadership Award

On Thursday, Jan. 16 at MSCI’s Tubular Conference, MSCI CEO and President Bob Weidner received the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations’ (CMA) 2014 Leadership Award. (NAM also announced the award last week at CMA’s winter leadership conference in Wilmington, Del.) The Leadership Award was launched in 2001 to honor a chief staff officer who, through voluntary efforts, has gone that extra mile to further CMA’s mission.

NAM said Bob, who is a past CMA chairman, “was instrumental in increasing the profile of CMA and reshap[ing] its mission as an organization to support NAM’s advocacy efforts” and that Bob effectively “provides best practices for other vertical associations.” NAM also called Bob “a risk taker” who is “a leader in association management and a great role model to others.”

MSCI Vice President of Finance and Government Affairs Jonathan Kalkwarf presented the award to Bob.

In an email to CMA members and MSCI staff after receiving the award Bob said, “I have gained so very much from my association with CMA and NAM; friendships that I cherish, learning that I’ve gained and most importantly leadership lessons that I’ve learned from my participation within this group of industry leaders.” He also said the award is “a recognition of the men and women of MSCI, my staff and volunteer leaders who have supported me.” Please join us in congratulating Bob!
