OSHA Requests Comment On Injury-Illness Reporting Rule

On Thursday, July 26, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released its long-awaited notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to update its injury and illness tracking requirements. The proposal would eliminate the electronic reporting requirement for OSHA forms 300 and 301 over employee privacy concerns. OSHA made the NPRM available on its website for informational purposes only until the official version is published in the Federal Register.

Until the date of publication, the NPRM can be found at osha.gov. After publication, the NPRM can be accessed through the Federal Register website at www.federalregister.gov. Comments to the proposal will be due 60 days after the proposal is officially published in the Federal Register. Click here to learn more.
