Shipments Decline Continues in April

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>Shipments Decline Continues in April </h1>
<p>The decline of shipments from 2015 levels continued, although at a modestly lower pace, in both the United States and Canada in April. Inventory levels have been adjusted again to reflect the current slowdown.</p>
<h2 style=”text-align: center;”>U.S. Service Center Activity</h2>
<p>In April 2016, U.S. service center steel shipments decreased by 6.3% from April 2015. Steel product inventories decreased 19.3% from April a year ago.</p>
<p>In April, U.S. service center shipments of aluminum products decreased by 8.8% from the same month in 2015. Inventories of aluminum products decreased 3.4% from April a year ago. </p>
<h2 style=”text-align: center;”>Canadian Service Center Activity</h2>
<p>In April 2016, Canadian service center shipments of steel products decreased by 12.9% from April 2015. Steel product inventories decreased 20.7% from April a year ago. </p>
<p>Canadian service center aluminum shipments in April decreased 15.8% from the same month in 2015. Inventories of aluminum products decreased 12.4% from April a year ago. </p>
