Spotlight On OSHA: Click Here To Watch MSCI’s Webinar And To Learn What’s Coming Up At The Agency

The Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) recently released a webinar outlining the metals industry’s most frequently cited Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) standards. Click here to watch. The webinar discussion addresses forklifts, lock out/tag out, crane operations, electrical issues, machine guarding, and confined spaces.

In its Fall 2017 Unified Agenda of Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions, the Trump administration promised to reduce the monetary burden of labor regulations on businesses by $137 million annually. Specifically, it promised that, in the coming months, OSHA will issue a proposal to reconsider, revise, or remove provisions of the Obama administration’s workplace injury and illness reporting rule. The Agenda said the Trump administration “will propose changes intended to reduce unnecessary burdens while maintaining worker protections” and “will look at the electronic submission of injury and illness reports by employers.”

MSCI had opposed this rule as it was introduced by the Obama administration (click here to learn more). Both the Obama and Trump administrations delayed implementation of the rule.
