Steel Monitoring To Continue In Canada Until At Least November 2020
According to American Metal Market (AMM) (subscription required), Global Affairs Canada (GAC) will continue to monitor steel imports into the country until at least Nov. 1, 2020. (The program has been in existence for 31 years.)
The program does not limit the quantity of carbon and specialty steel products that may be imported into Canada.
GAC tracks both carbon steel and specialty steel. As AMM explains, carbon steel products include ingot, blooms, billet, slab, sheet bar, plate, sheet, strip, wire rod, wire, wire products, rail products, bar, structural shapes, pipe and tube. Specialty steels include stainless sheet, strip, plate, bar, pipe, tube and wire; alloy tool steel; mold steel, and high-speed steel. Click here to read GAC’s full notice.
