The Goal: Zero Incidents

Peer to peer learning and collaboration help

Safety is—and should be—a top priority at every company.  A recent safety survey by MSCI shows that the industry’s safety efforts are trending to the positive. Incidents have decreased drastically over time, from 10 per 200,000 man hours on average across the industry in 2002 to 5 per 200,000 man hours and below in the 2015 data just reported.

And while that’s cause for celebration, it’s still not enough.  That means employees are still inured on the job. We talked with some of the metals industry safety professionals about why participating in a metals-specific safety conference—like MSCI’s— is so important and different.

The MSCI Safety Conference is co-located with the National Safety Council’s Congress & Expo, and MSCI members receive discounts for the NSC event.
