Time To Start Planning: Join MSCI In Early June For NAM Manufacturing Summit!

The Metals Service Center Institute will join the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) again this year for its annual National Manufacturing Summit

The summit will be held June 2-3, 2015 in Washington, DC. MSCI urges its members to join with other representatives of our industry for this important event where you’ll have the chance to meet with legislators and advocate for the policies that play a critical role in our nation’s economic growth and the growth of the metals and manufacturing sectors. As NAM indicates, the summit is the perfect time for you to connect with freshman members of Congress, as well as other key policymakers in Washington, to discuss a host of issues that impact not only the business community but your company, your workers and your bottom line. (You can see highlights of the 2014 summit here.)

Additionally, as part of the event, MSCI President and CEO Bob Weidner will also host a small group dinner for all MSCI members participating in the NAM summit. Your participation does matter, so please let MSCI Vice President of Finance and Government Affairs Jonathan Kalkwarf know today if you are interested in joining our delegation.

Though MSCI will not have a formal role in hosting the event, it also encourages its members to attend the Coalition for Transportation for Productivity fly-in March 3-4, 2015 in Washington, DC. MSCI is a member of this coalition, which will travel to the nation’s capital to argue for passage of a long-term highway reauthorization bill, increased vehicle weight for vehicles equipped with a sixth axle and legislation establishing a national carrier hiring standard.
