Tomorrow Is Election Day – Sign Up For Election Day Reminders And News
The American people will go to the polls to cast their ballots in the 2014 mid-term elections tomorrow. As we prepare to go to the polls, we wanted to pass along some thoughts from MSCI member and Marmon Distribution Services, Inc. President Alan L. Wilkinson. In his column in the company’s most recent newsletter, Wilkinson said, “[F]ocusing on the future, we are now approaching mid-term elections. We should all ask ourselves, ‘Do we want to continue on the same path, or should we create new opportunities by making our voices heard?’” Wilkinson encouraged his employees and anyone reading the newsletter to “study the candidates and their past decisions” because it is “so important to get out and vote. It’s your right and privilege, so make your vote count!”
We at MSCI wholeheartedly agree and hope you will join us at the polls Tuesday as we work to make the voice of the American metals industry heard!
On Election Day, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is also offering a couple of tools that will keep you informed on Election Day. You and your employees can receive voting reminders Tuesday via e-mail or text message by signing up at NAM’s TurboVote partner site (www.nam.turbovote.org) and you can also sign up for Election Night news from NAM by visiting and signing up at this SurveyMonkey site.
And, finally, one last reminder that MSCI members are invited to participate in NAM’s post-election webinar on Wednesday, Nov. 5. According to NAM, “Program highlights include an in-depth review of competitive races, an analysis of the results, a policy forecast and the implications that the elections will have on key business issues.” The discussion will feature Cook Political Report National Editor Amy Walter, former U.S. Sen. George Allen (R-VA) and former U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR). MSCI members can register here. The cost for non-members is $65 and the cost for members is $50.
