U.S. House Panel Passes Regulatory Reform Bill – Call Your Representative Today To Say You Support This Bill!
The U.S. House Judiciary Committee last week passed H.R. 527, the Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act, which, according to The Washington Post, would “require federal agencies to identify and consider the indirect consequences of proposed regulation on small businesses, not merely direct consequences.”
The bill also requires federal agencies to put in place small business review panels that will have to debate new regulations before they are implemented.
With the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and dozens of other groups, MSCI has signed a letter to leaders in the House and Senate supporting H.R. 527. The letter will be delivered to the members’ offices tomorrow, Feb. 3.
Additionally, NAM has asked members of our industry to write to their member of Congress to tell them we support H.R. 527. MSCI members can use NAM’s draft letter, available here, to do so. You must register on the website to access and send the letter, but registration is free. The House is expected to vote on H.R. 527 this week, so please write to your member of Congress today!
