“You Can Make A Difference,” Says PA Steel: Join Other MSCI Members At The MSCI/NAM Manufacturing Fly-In!

As Connecting the Dots has reported over the last few weeks, the Metals Service Center Institute will join the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) again this year for NAM’s annual National Manufacturing Summit.

MSCI has arranged for our members to receive a $20 discount toward the $395 registration fee for the event. Just enter the code MSCI at this website during registration and receive your discount.

The summit will be held June 2-3, 2015 in Washington, DC. MSCI urges its members to join with other representatives of our industry and other manufacturers for this important event where you’ll have the chance to meet with legislators and advocate for the policies that play a critical role in our nation’s economic growth and the prosperity of the metals and manufacturing sectors. The summit is the perfect time for you to connect with freshman members of Congress, as well as other key policymakers to discuss a host of issues that impact not only the business community but your company, your workers and your bottom line. (You can see highlights of the 2014 summit here.)

Here is what Ron Travis, vice president of Tax & Legislative Affairs at O'Neal Industries said about last year’s fly-in: “I found the MSCI/NAM Washington fly-in to be a great way to get involved in the legislative process in DC. The speakers were outstanding and the entire legislative visit process ran smoothly. It allowed me to visit with a number of our congressmen in small groups in a very short period of time. The one big thing that I have learned about the legislative process is that we all need to be involved and talking about our issues. We can never assume that someone else is doing it for us. The Fly-Ins are a great way to get started.”

Pennsylvania Steel Vice President and General Manager Lee Kushman said, “I viewed my first time experience as a valuable lesson, a first step, to more productive meetings with our elected officials. … It's all about gaining a voice and I encourage other executives to get involved and show their concerns. You can make a difference!”

As part of the event again this year, MSCI President and CEO Bob Weidner will also host a small group dinner for all MSCI members participating in the NAM summit. Your participation does matter, so please join us in June!
