U.S. and Canadian Shipments Rise Across Steel and Aluminum
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill
MSCI Metals Activity for April 2026 shows year-over-year increases in service center shipments across both steel and aluminum in the U.S. and Canada. U.S. steel shipments rose 2.6% from April 2025 on a seasonally adjusted basis, while aluminum shipments increased 6.7%. In Canada, steel shipments increased 11.3% compared to April 2025, and aluminum shipments increased 32.2%. The results reflect positive shipment comparisons across these reported product categories and regions for the month.
U.S. Service Center Activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in April 2026 were +2.6% (seasonally adjusted) from April 2025. Shipments of aluminum products were +6.7% (seasonally adjusted) from the same month in 2025.
Canadian Service Center Activity
Canadian service center steel shipments in April 2026 were +11.3% (seasonally adjusted) from April 2025. Shipments of aluminum products were +32.2% (seasonally adjusted) from the same month in 2025.
