U.S. Steel Shipments Increase in January
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.
Steel shipments increased in the U.S. in January, breaking the consistent pattern of monthly decline throughout 2019. Aluminum shipments, however, declined for the fourth consecutive month. Both steel and aluminum shipments declined in Canada.
U.S. Service Center Activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in January, 2020 increased by 2.2% from January 2019. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 1.6% from the same month in 2019.
Canadian Service Center Activity
Canadian service center steel shipments in January, 2020 decreased by 1.9% from January 2019. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 7.8% from the same month in 2019.
