Canada Will Investigate Steel Plate Imports From Five Countries

According to Fastmarkets AMM (subscription required), the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) has begun an anti-dumping investigation into imports of hot-rolled carbon steel heavy plate and high-strength, low-alloy steel heavy plate from Germany, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Turkey.

Yahoo Finance reported the reasons for the investigation will be issued by the CBSA on June 11. The outlet also reported a preliminary determination and potential provisional duties will be in force by August 25 while a final determination is expected by November 23.

Anti-dumping duties will be applied for an initial period of five years if the Canadian International Trade Tribunal subsequently concurs that the imports injured domestic producers. Click here for more information from the CBSA.
