Texas Chapter Awards Seven Scholarships in 2019

The Texas Chapter is pleased to announce the 2019 recipients of the Rene Morrison Memorial Scholarships.  Seven students whose parents work for MSCI member companies each received a $3,000 scholarship to further their education.  Scholarships were awarded on June 9, 2019, during the opening dinner of the Texas Chapter Summer Meeting by Chapter President Steve Mize, Delta Steel.

Abigail Cooney is attending the University of Alabama.  She is the daughter of Michael Cooney, The Trident Company.

Courtney Hendley is attending the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.  Her father, John Hendley, is with Ryerson, Inc.

Madeline Oles is studying at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry at Houston.  Her father, Chris Oles, is with Reliance Metalcenter.

Molly Ormond is attending the University of Texas at Tyler.  She is the daughter of William Ormond, Nucor Steel.

Anna Sanders is a student at Texas A&M University.  Leah Sanders is studying at the University of Southern Arkansas.  They are the daughters of Todd Sanders of SSAB.

Harrison Schroeder is studying at the University of Texas at Austin.  His father, Greg Schroeder, is with Samuel, Son & Co., Inc.

Applications for the 2020 Rene Morrison Memorial Scholarships will be accepted after January 1, 2020.  The deadline for applications is April 1, 2020.  See the MSCI Chapter Scholarship website for further information.
