On Thursday, February 25 at 2:00 pm (Central), Robert Lerman, Institute Fellow, Urban Institute Emeritus Professor of Economics, American University Founder of the American Institute for Innovative Apprenticeship will join Bob Weidner, MSCI President & CEO, in a Fireside Chat on the value of apprenticeships.

Apprenticeship is a time-honored approach to learning and achieving high levels of occupational skill.  Companies benefit from the apprentice’s contributions to production, from well-trained workers who develop in the context of the enterprise, and from having experienced, older workers transmit their implicit knowledge to apprentices.  With recent increases in public support and technical assistance, apprenticeships are starting to expand well beyond construction.

Join us to hear an in-depth review of why apprenticeships are cost-effective for companies and workers and how service centers can best implement apprenticeship programs to take advantage of these benefits.
