ABOUT HERITAGE CAPITAL AND OUR SPEAKERS
Heritage Capital Group’s focus is on developing the right strategies to help companies raise capital, acquire businesses for growth, and sell their company, allowing owners to exit on their terms. With more than 48 years of transaction and advisory successes, Heritage’s team has perfected the strategies and processes needed for a company’s long-term success.
Bert Tenenbaum is a principal with Heritage Capital Group. His primary focus is advising clients in metals distribution, processing, and recycling businesses on merger and acquisition transactions. Tenenbaum has 40 years of leadership and management experience in the metals distribution industry, working for both private and public companies. His family owned Savannah, Ga.-based Chatham Steel Corporation is one of the South’s largest metal distribution companies. Chatham Steel was acquired by Reliance Steel and Aluminum Company in 1998, and Bert was appointed president of Chatham in 2003, retiring from Reliance at the end of 2015.
John Montgomery is a principal at Heritage Capital Group. He brings more than 25 years of experience in business development and operations within the metals industry. For the majority of his career, Montgomery served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Southland Tube. When it was acquired by Nucor in 2017, he played a significant role in the negotiations, due diligence, and deal documentation of the transaction. While at Nucor, part of Montgomery’s mandate was to assist with M&A. Since leaving Nucor in 2019, he has gone on to advise other privately held metals companies.
