Featuring Keynote Speaker: Barry T. Schneider –President & Chief Operating Officer, Steel Dynamics

Barry T. Schneider was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer in March 2023. Mr. Schneider is responsible for the company’s steel platform, steel fabrication platform, and metals recycling platform. Prior to that, Mr. Schneider served as Senior Vice President, Flat Roll Steel Group responsible for the company’s entire flat roll steel operations, including the company’s three flat roll steel mills and numerous flat rolled processing, coating, and distribution operations. Mr. Schneider has been with Steel Dynamics since 1995, serving in various operational and leadership roles within the company’s steel operations, including Engineered Bar Products Division and Butler Flat Roll Division. He was also part of the team that constructed the company’s first steel mill in Butler, Indiana.

Following Mr. Schneider’s remarks, he will join MSCI President & CEO Bob Weidner for a Fireside Chat on the state of the metals industry. Bob Weidner is President and CEO of the Metals Service Center Institute, a 115-year-old trade association representing producers and distributors of aluminum, carbon and stainless steel.  He is a member of its board of directors and ex officio member of its finance, compensation, audit and governance committees. Since joining the association in 2001, he has fiercely advocated for North American manufacturing and the use of industrial metals.
