Trailer Fall Prevention: Making Trailer Work Safer
Thursday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. CT
As part of MSCI’s effort to create a Zero Harm, Safety Always culture in the industrial metals industry, we are pleased to bring a free webinar with Russel Metals safety experts Ryan Henschel and Rainey Gibson to the institute’s membership.
Working in metals means working on and around trailers — and working on trailers means the risk of serious falls are ever-present. This webinar may help companies improve their existing trailer fall prevention systems and practices. For companies that do not have systems in place, the webinar will provide information about how to get started.
Specifically, Gibson and Henschel will discuss Russel’s systems and practices for preventing falls from trailers. With no industry standard to follow, the company used an employee-centric approach to generate ideas and implement fall prevention systems and practices that required active collaboration between all levels of the organization, from the c-suite to warehouse employees. Gibson and Henschel discuss how the Russel team developed these systems, even offering insight into which prototypes worked and those that did not. They also will answer questions like:
- Who should be involved in devising better safety systems;
- Why innovation is difficult and how to overcome resistance to change;
- How long reforms take to implement;
- What processes and systems work best and which ones do not work well;
- What struggles to expect after implementation; and
- How can No Touch Tools can help loaders, unloaders, and drivers work from the ground and reduce the risk of falls.
This webinar is a must-attend for employees, supervisors and managers who work on or around trailers, safety professionals, and c-suite leaders interested in enhancing their own Zero Harm, Safety Always culture.
