Last Chance To Tell Congress To Vote For $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Bill

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced over the weekend that the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the Senate-passed, bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure package this Thursday, September 30.

That means the industrial metals community has just a few days left to make our voices heard in support of this bill. Even if you have already, please contact call or write your representatives in the U.S. House.

The easiest way to do so is to use this tool from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC). Personalize the letter by explaining how this historic investment in infrastructure will impact your job, your colleagues, company, community, and customers. It also might be useful to mention that this bill will:

  • Ensure every service center and every mill has access to better infrastructure and that U.S. infrastructure remains competitive with China;
  • Would result in 883,600 new well-paying jobs by 2030;
  • Reforms the permitting process to cut government red tape;
  • Leverages private-sector investment to build our infrastructure;
  • Ensures investment occurs in all corners of the country, not just big cities; and
  • Was supported by a majority of Republican, Democrat, and Independent voters.

MSCI also asks that its member companies support the bipartisan infrastructure deal on their social media feeds using the hashtags #LetsBuildNow and #InfrastructureNow and a link to MSCI’s infrastructure website www.build-now.org.
