Metal Shipments Continue to Decline in May
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.
Metal shipments in both the U.S. and Canada declined at substantial rates again in May due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
U.S. Service Center Activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in May 2020 decreased by 34.2% from May 2019. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 37.8% from the same month in 2019.
Canadian Service Center Activity
Canadian service center steel shipments in May 2020 decreased by 40.2% from May 2019. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 34.2% from the same month in 2019.
