Metals Shipments Rates of Decline Improve in September, Aluminum Up in Canada
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.
Steel shipments in both the U.S. and in Canada, and aluminum shipments in the U.S., declined again in September on a Year over Year basis but at less than half the rate in August. Aluminum shipments in Canada were up slightly over September 2019.
U.S. Service Center Activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in September 2020 decreased by 4.0% from September 2019. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 6.0% from the same month in 2019.
Canadian Service Center Activity
Canadian service center steel shipments in September 2020 decreased by 5.8% from September 2019. Shipments of aluminum products increased by 2.7% from the same month in 2019.
