MSCI Staff Announcements

We are delighted to share exciting announcements about MSCI’s team.

First, on July 1 Ann Zastrow returned to our team. She succeeds Monique Combs as our Vice President of Knowledge and Learning. Ann served MSCI in a similar capacity a decade ago. Among her many accomplishments were the launch of MetalLearn® and our 20-year-old proprietary Strategic Metals Management, which is now accepting registrations for January 2025 and Cohort XVII.

After earning her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame, Ann began her career in the steel industry with Inland Steel in labor relations. For the past decade, she has held positions in executive education and professional development at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the College of Lake County.

Ann is a seasoned human resource and education professional with more than 30 years of experience. She has a masters of education in adult education and training and has held leadership positions in employee relations, retention, professional development, executive education, compensation and benefits, high-performance organizations, and labor relations. Ann will work closely with MSCI’s account management team, Julie Thane and Kathy Spellman, to reach out to your HR departments and CHROs as MSCI continues to be a resource for member companies when it comes to human capital management. Ann looks to leverage her past experiences to both enhance our open enrollment programs and and grow our dedicated company Knowledge and Learning offerings.

In addition to her Knowledge and Learning responsibilities, Ann will be the liaison to the Tubular Council and to the Central New York, St. Louis, and New York Chapters.

Second, Darci Bertoncello has been promoted to the new position of Director of Chapter Ambassadors and Strategic Reporting. For more than 10 years Darci has served as our President and CEO Bob Weidner’s executive assistant. Her performance has been exemplary. Darci is totally committed to delivering value to our members and has demonstrated a strong work ethic, innovative spirit, and positive attitude to her work from day one. She has a curious mind, takes on additional responsibilities without hesitation, is a consummate team player, and has exceptional communication and organizational skills.

In this new capacity, Darci will execute the biannual Chapter Leadership Symposium, overhaul our Chapter leadership Manual, develop reporting tools for Chapter Leadership engagement in our thought leadership webinar series, create best practices to help Chapters increase scholarship fundraising, improve programming content, and ensure good governance. She will continue to be a member of our accounting team in the development and upkeep of our board strategic reports and other managerial reports as deemed needed by the President and CEO. Darci also will serve as liaison to the Canadian, Southern California, and Arizona Chapters.

Please join us in welcoming back Ann and congratulating Darci.
