No Fooling: Apply For MSCI’s Scholarship Programs Before April 1
A vibrant and loyal workforce is a business’s competitive advantage and, as part of membership in the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), member companies now have access to two scholarship programs that will strengthen the connection between their company, its workers, and its community.
The deadline for both programs is April 1, 2024.
The first program is MSCI’s Skilled Trades Scholarship Program. Surveys indicate employees want to learn new skills — and are more loyal to employers who offer opportunities for lifelong learning. In recognition of the men and women who work on the shop floor, MSCI’s Skilled Trades Scholarship Program will serve employees of MSCI member companies who are enrolled or will enroll in 2024 at an accredited two-year college, vocational or technical school, or other approved technical institute leading to a trade degree/certificate in the United States or Canada. Each scholarship is worth $3,500 and can be applied to tuition or the employee’s costs associated with continuing their education.
The second program is MSCI’s Chapters Scholarship Programs, which have been in place for 20 years and serves the children of MSCI chapter member employees who have been accepted to a two or four-year degree college program, vocational school, or a graduate degree program. Students currently attending college and/or graduate school may also apply if they meet the established criteria. Over the history of this program, MSCI has awarded more than $11 million to more than 5,100 students. MSCI and its chapters are taking applications for both programs now.
Information about eligibility, deadlines, and required application materials for both programs are available here. At that link, you also will be able to download posters you can print and use in your facilities to advertise the programs.
