REMINDER: Metals, Manufacturing Industries Called To Donate And Produce Needed Supplies

As Connecting the Dots noted last week, federal officials have made urgent requests for businesses to donate or produce desperately needed supplies to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. As the crisis has unfolded, three phases of emergency manufacturing relief have been developed. Phase 1 is a focus on who has the existing inventory that can be redistributed. Our call last week for companies to donate extra N95 face masks to medical institutions falls under that step. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) now has more information at this link about how the private sector can help. This need still is great, so please keep donating supplies if your company can.

Phase 2 will focus on what businesses can make more of what they usually make, and Phase 3 will extend to firms that can potentially retool their operations to make what is needed. FEMA is taking information here about equipment that companies might be able to donate.

Additionally, if your company is interested in doing business with FEMA and supporting the response to COVID- 19 with your company’s non-medical goods and/or services, please submit your inquiry to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Procurement Action Innovative Response Team (PAIR) team at DHSIndustryLiaison@hq.dhs.gov.
