Steel Shipment Declines Continue
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.
Steel shipments decreased for the seventh consecutive month in the U.S. and for the tenth consecutive month in Canada. Aluminum shipments increased in the U.S. but decreased for the first time this year in Canada.
U.S. Service Center Activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in May 2019 decreased by 7.4% from May 2018. Shipments of aluminum products increased by 4.0% from the same month in 2018.
Canadian Service Center Activity
Canadian center steel shipments in May 2019 decreased by 6.4% from May 2018. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 1.9% from the same month in 2018.
