Steel Shipments Declines Continue While Aluminum Rises
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.
Steel shipments decreased for the sixth consecutive month in the U.S. and for the ninth consecutive month in Canada. Aluminum shipments increased in both countries, reversing a four-month decline in the U.S.
U.S. Service Center Activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in April 2019 decreased by 5.3% from April 2018. Shipments of aluminum products increased by 3.1% from the same month in 2018.
Canadian Service Center Activity
Canadian center steel shipments in April 2019 decreased by 13.2% from April 2018. Shipments of aluminum products increased by 4.5% from the same month in 2018.
