Tracking Which States, Provinces Are Reopening

Every U.S. state has now started to reopen in some fashion.

There are several resources available to help companies navigate reopening orders in the 50 states and in Canada’s provinces. The New York Times, provides detailed information about the status of operations in each states, as does the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC), the National Association of Manufacturers, and the Winston & Strawn COVID-19 Legal Task Force, which has created tracker and a COVID-19 Client Resource Center that includes daily updates on COVID-19 legal issues.

To the north, CTV News is tracking reopening in the provinces. In related news: on May 19, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released version 3.1 of its Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce.

This new guidance provides clarity around many individual worker categories, including expanded language for those workers supporting at-risk communities. As a reminder, the guidance is not a federal mandate, and final decision on its use remains with state and local officials, who must determine how to balance public health and safety with the need to maintain and/or more fully return-to-work critical infrastructure personnel in their communities. Please direct any questions on this guidance and its use to CISA.CAT@cisa.dhs.gov.
