U.S. Government Still Looking For Comments On How U.S.-UK Trade Impacts Smaller Companies

Due to the federal government shutdown earlier this year, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has extended deadlines for public feedback that will be used for a report that will catalogue trade-related barriers faced by small- and-medium sized enterprises that export to the United Kingdom (UK), and the deadlines for the investigation.

Provided below are questions that Metals Service Center Institute members should consider as they prepare to submit comments:

  • Does your business rely upon trade promotion programs underpinned by the European Union that the UK should consider replicating upon exiting the EU?
  • Has your business identified issues with exporting to EU countries that the UK could ameliorate as it considers the establishment of new regulatory frameworks following Brexit?
