Advice for Navigating the Trucker Shortage

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, there are now more than 7.1 million jobs that are currently unfilled in the United States. The jobs gap is acute in the manufacturing sector, but it also is a major issue facing the trucking industry. In fact, according to the American Trucking Association, the current shortage is somewhere between 55,000 and 65,000 drivers – and it is growing rapidly.

In a new white paper available to MSCI members, Ryder explores how driver surveys, exit interviews, and conversations with current drivers can improve recruiting and retention strategies.

MSCI members also shouldn’t forget that Ryder Integrated Logistics Vice President Roger Welling will share his expertise on continued trucking shortages at MSCI’s Tubular Conference, set for Jan. 15-16, 2019 in Scottsdale, Ariz. There is still time to register for this important conference.
