Canada Sets Preliminary Duties On Certain Corrosion-Resistant Steel Sheet From Three Countries
According to FastmarketsAMM (subscription required), after an investigation begun in earlier this fall, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) last week announced estimated dumping margins on certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Vietnam.
The margins range from seven percent for Turkey to 20 percent for Vietnam and 22 percent for the UAE. The report also says CBSA estimated subsidies for the period spanning July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019, at 21.3 percent of the export price for Turkey, 12.1 percent for the UAE, and 4.7 percent for Vietnam.
Turkey accounted for a 23.8 percent market share of the products under investigation in Canada during the investigation period while Vietnam accounted for 40.3 percent and the UAE accounted for 4.3 percent.
The CBSA said Interested parties are invited to file written submissions presenting facts, arguments, and evidence that they feel are relevant to the alleged dumping and subsidizing.
