Congratulations to the 2021 South Atlantic Chapter Scholarship Winners!

The MSCI South Atlantic Chapter is pleased to announce the 2021 scholarship recipients. 12 students whose parents work for an MSCI member company each received a $2,500 scholarship to further their education:

  • Edgar Arroyo, son of Hermelinda Arroyo of American Stainless Tubing, will be attending Catawba College
  • Kameron Bolam son of Joseph Bolam of Nucor Steel – Herford County, will be attending East Carolina University
  • Mitchell Cox, son of Gregory Cox of Steel Dynamics, Roanoke Bar Division, will be attending New River Community College
  • Alyssa Gonzalez, daughter of Alan Gonzalez of CMC Steel South Carolina, will be attending the University of South Carolina
  • Sam Gribble, son of Julie Dixon of Metals USA – Randleman, will be attending the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2018, 2020, 2021)
  • Megan McCraw, daughter of Mark McCraw of O’Neal Steel, will be attending Appalachian State University
  • Breanna Roof, daughter of George Gunn of Outokumpu Stainless Bar, will be attending Francis Marion University (2019, 2021)
  • Mia Toscos, daughter of Theodore Toscos of Outokumpu Stainless Bar, will be attending Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Kinnice Turner, daughter of Chad Turner of Steel Dynamics Roanoke Bar Division, will be attending the University of Lynchburg
  • Braeden Whitehurst, son of Dean Whitehurst of Nucor Steel – Hertford County, will be attending Paul D. Camp Community College (2020, 2021)
  • Cal Wilhelm, son of Ken Wilhemp of OmniSource Winston-Salem, will be attending North Carolina State University
  • Gavin Young, son of Rick Young of Nucor Steel – South Carolina, will be attending Clemson University
