Don’t Miss Allegheny Technology’s Bob Wetherbee At MSCI’s Specialty Conference

MSCI’s Specialty Metals Division Conference, which is set for March 12-13, 2019 in Phoenix, Ariz., will feature Bob Wetherbee, president and CEO of Allegheny Technologies, Inc. (ATI), who will look at our industry’s strengths and weaknesses today and over the next several years. Wetherbee previously served as executive vice president of ATI’s Flat Rolled Products (FRP) business. He was recruited in 2014 to transform FRP, then heavily reliant on commodity stainless steel and strip, into the business it is today: a producer of high-value differentiated flat rolled products, which leverages its innovative Hot Rolling and Processing Facility (HRPF) and other assets to serve global markets, including the aerospace and defense, oil and gas, and chemical/hydrocarbon processing industries, with a base load of commodity stainless products.

Specialty also will feature:

  • Major General John Batiste who will share the six skills necessary to become an extraordinary leader in a high performance organization.
  • Markus Moll, the industry’s go-to source for specialty metals economic intelligence, who will share his expertise on global stainless steel, as well as the tool steel and high speed alloy markets.
  • Barry Lawrence, a faculty member of the Industrial Distribution Program at Texas A&M University who leads the largest industrial distribution educational program and the only distribution research center in the world, who will present a session on price optimization.
