Metal Shipments Fall Sharply in April
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.
Metal shipments in the US and in Canada fell at double digit levels in April due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, eliminating the gains made since the last recession.
U.S. Service Center Activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in April 2020 decreased by 31.3% from April 2019. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 32.2% from the same month in 2019.
Canadian Service Center Activity
Canadian service center steel shipments in April 2020 decreased by 40.6% from April 2019. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 33.0% from the same month in 2019.
