MSCI Calendar: Join Our Virtual Events No Matter Where You’re Based

While the coronavirus pandemic has kept industrial metals industry colleagues from meeting in person, the Metals Service Center Institute is working to develop engaging, online contents for its members. These events are all online and can be accessed by members no matter where they are in the world.

Upcoming events include:

• November 5, 11 a.m. CT, Free Webinar: MSCI will host a conversation about the value of being a diverse organization with Brigadier General (Ret.) Rebecca Halstead, a faculty member with Thayer Leadership, and the first woman to be promoted to General Officer. Halstead will share her powerful and effective views on diversity and the lessons she learned from her experience as the first ever female Commanding General at the strategic level of leadership in Iraq, where she led 20,000 soldiers and 5,000 civilians from 2005 to 2006. This was a first for the Army and the nation. During her career, Gen. Halstead was often the only woman. She believes organizations are better because of their diversity, not in spite of it. • November 5, 2020, 3 p.m. CT, Regional Forum Webinar: Metals industry leaders in the Southeastern United States will discuss today’s most impactful issues. Held in conjunction with MSCI’s Florida, Gulf Region, MidSouth, and South Atlantic Chapters and moderated by MSCI President and CEO Bob Weidner, panelists will include: Joe Baucom, Southeast Regional Vice President, Chicago Tube & Iron Company; Norm Browning, Vice President of Business Development, O’Neal Industries; Jason Goldin, President, Goldin Metals, Inc.; and Eric L. McGill, Gulf Coast/Atlanta Multi-Market General Manager, Ryerson. • November 12, 1 p.m. CT, CEO Huddle: MSCI President and CEO Bob Weidner will host a free webinar discussion with James Hoffman, president and CEO of Reliance Steel and Aluminum, and Leon Topalian, president and CEO of NUCOR. Hoffman and Topalian will share their personal perspective on industry topics that include the economy, leadership, COVID-19, workplace issues, and much more. • December 3, 2020, 3 p.m. CT, Regional Forum Webinar: MSCI will host a Regional Forum Webinar for leaders from the Eastern United States. MSCI’s Bob Weidner will moderate. The discussion will feature: Dan Kelly, president of Benjamin Steel Company, Inc.; Todd Leebow, president and CEO of Majestic Steel USA, Inc.; Micky Tschirhart, vice president of Scion Steel; and Andrew Greiff, president and CEO of Olympic Steel, Inc.
