MSCI’s Annual Meeting: How to Overcome Adversity, Demonstrate Courage, Perseverance, Determination and Teamwork

MSCI’s Annual Meeting, set for May 5-7 at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Golf Club and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., is just one month away.

You won’t want to miss this event where participants will hear from Colonel (Ret.) Greg Gadson. A highly decorated military officer, Gadson was commanding a unit in Iraq when he was severely wounded by an explosive device, resulting in the loss of both legs above the knee and a severely damaged right arm and hand. Despite his injury, Gadson remained on active duty service in the military until 2014 and continues to inspire many with his message, which is based on the lessons of “Pride, Poise, and Team” that he learned as a star West Point football player.

Join us for this important conversation, and as MSCI recognizes two individuals with its Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael D. Siegal, Executive Chairman of Olympic Steel, whose 45-year career at Olympic Steel is one of corporate America’s great success stories, and David H. Hannah, formerly of Reliance Steel, whose consistent, committed, and forward-thinking approach over his 33-year career marks him as an engaging and inspiring leader. Other Annual Meeting speakers include:

  • John J. Ferriola, Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer, Nucor
  • Alan Kestenbaum, Chairman/CEO, and President, Stelco
  • Conrad Winkler, President & CEO, Evraz NA
  • Barry M. Zekelman, Executive Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Zekelman Industries

The Annual Meeting also will feature Dr. Donald R. McNeeley, president and CEO of Chicago Tube and Iron Company. Dr. McNeeley started at CTI in 1972 and has been able to navigate the company through the ups and downs of the industry. Additionally, as a clinical professor at Northwestern University, he teaches a masters capstone course and advises doctorial students. Dr. McNeeley will share his perspectives on the metals industry’s challenges in recruiting, training, and retaining top talent. He also will interview a panel of students from Texas A&M’s Industrial Distribution program regarding their career decisions and how your company can attract them.
