New Data Show Negative Impact Of The Cadillac Tax

According to a new Kaiser Family Foundation analysis, nearly one in three employers offering private health benefits would be subject to the Affordable Care Act Cadillac Tax in 2022, and nearly half would be by 2030. If the Cadillac Tax is allowed to take effect in 2022, employers will be forced to cut benefits for their employees and their families.

As Connecting the Dots reported in July, the U.S. House of Representatives passed bipartisan legislation, the Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act, which would permanently repeal the 40 percent excise tax on robust employer-provided health plans.

The Senate must now decide whether to act on the measure.
